Sometimes a project has a problem that is going to take creativity and time to get fixed.  You may need to legalize a garage converted to a bedroom for example or find room on your land for more space where the zoning does not seem to allow it.  At other times, while you may feel you can move the project along, you just don't have the time to manage it. Sometimes you just need some advice on costs and how long something may take to do. Or perhaps you contemplate a large project and you have no idea how to begin. If the project is large enough it just may be that more than one person is needed to manage it properly.

Hiring a consultant who has your interest at heart can save money and aggravation.  A good consultant can see problems with your plans going forward and avoid them before you have invested time and money making it difficult to change direction.  They can help find more cost efficient designs and methods of construction.  They should be able to separate the small stuff from what's important. Mainly though, they should remove as much anxiety and stress out of a difficult process as possible.
